Christmas Pot Luck & Raffle

It wasn't as cold this year... in fact, unseasonably mild at 12°C, so no need to come in early to de-ice the heating!
Thanks to all of you that were able to attend, I think everyone enjoyed themselves. As usual, there was a wide and plentiful selection of food for the pot luck and prizes for the raffle. There was also a couple of quiz rounds at the break (brought forward from 21st). It would have been helpful if I'd put the question/answer sheets in the right order! However, we got there in the end, with the winning team squeezing ahead by just a couple of points.
The raffle raised a splendid £40 for club funds, and our Give Care Not Cards
appeal raised a magnificent £50, which we donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. Alan explained how this organisation had supported his son and pioneered new treatments, that has allowed him to lead a normal life... a worthy cause indeed!
Visitors From Germany
20th July
Melani Henke, and her friend Uta Strecker dance at ‘C-Lions’ in Germany. They came to the UK, and spent two weeks touring Square Dance Clubs up and down the country. Below, is a photo taken when they joined us on our club night at Blue Diamonds.
Arrival of Asher Tinsdeal
3rd March
Today, Leah announced the birth of their son, Asher. Leah and Will said We have finally become parents this morning! He took his time about it!
Editors Note: As you can see, from the news item above, Asher came square dancing a few months later!
Sue Rushton & Mike Wilcox
18th January
Mike came to Blue Diamonds just over a year ago, and soon formed a friendship with Sue. They became engaged and were married on 13th December.
On behalf of Blue Diamonds, we wish them every happiness for the future.
