New Banner

19th December

The main highlight of our Christmas Pot Luck and Raffle evening, was the unveiling of the club's new banner.  This beautiful banner was designed and created by Gina, as a replacement for our old banner, which unfortunately sustained some water damage, whilst stored at the tennis club.  As a token of our appreciation for the many hours of work involved, we presented Gina with some New Vic Theatre vouchers.

Katherine House Appeal

We raised £80 (£100.00 with gift aid) for the Katherine House Hospice ‘Give care not cards at Christmas’ appeal this year.

We've been raising money this way since 2011 and I'm pleased to say that this brings our total donations so far, to a magnificent £720.60.  Thank-you everyone for supporting this very worthy cause.

Permanent Change of Venue

6th December

Following the successful trial of an alternative venue, Blue Diamonds SDC has now permanently relocated to the Girl Guides HQ on Westbridge Park. We would like to thank the Stone Guides organisation, for kindly agreeing to let us use their facilities.

In order to fit in with existing arrangements at the new venue, we now meet on the first Friday of each month, then Thursday on subsequent weeks.  The Girl Guides HQ is located on the left hand side, just after the new Stone Leisure Centre.

A Visit from Leah Clarke

4th April

The first Thursday in April was due to be records at Blue Diamonds, or a guest caller (if we could get one)... We didn't have one planned, but fortunately that afternoon, I received a phone call from Leah Clarke.  Leah (from Aeron Valley SDC) happened to be in Lichfield that day and was wondering if she could come to our club in the evening?  Of course, I said yes, but it was only after I'd put the phone down that I realised that she could be our ‘guest caller’.  So, I called her back and she kindly agreed to bring her laptop.  It was really good to have Leah's tuneful singing calls that evening as well as the usual records.  Leah also brought a friend along, who is learning Basic and Mainstream, so a fun time was had by all.

We forgot to take any pictures that evening, but above is a picture of Leah calling at Corinium Squares.  On behalf of the club I'd like to thank Leah for helping to make our evening a great success.
